availability. A transparent quote should separate these factors instead of presenting one
number without context.
Why group size changes the price
Private vehicle and guide costs are shared across the group. The supplied Recon Travels
itinerary therefore lists different per-person rates for four, six, and eight travelers.
Changing the final group size can change the quote.
Seasonal rates
April and May can offer lower rates, while migration and holiday periods are usually higher.
The Classic 7-Day itinerary provides three accommodation options across six date bands from
April 2026 to January 2027.
Park fees
- Masai Mara January-June: USD 100 per person per 12 hours
- Masai Mara July-August: USD 200 per person per 12 hours
- Ol Pejeta January-December: USD 110 per person per 24 hours
These figures come from the supplied itinerary and remain subject to official revisions.
Deposit and final payment
A 50% deposit is required to secure hotels, lodges, airlines, and other suppliers. The final
balance deadline is confirmed with the booking and must be settled before travel begins.
Cancellation guidance
- 91 days or more: no cancellation fee; deposit credited
- 90-61 days: 20% cancellation fee
- 60-46 days: 50% cancellation fee
- 45 days or less / no-show: 100% cancellation fee
Individual suppliers can apply different terms. Travel and medical insurance are strongly
recommended. Prices may also change because of taxes, park fees, fuel, domestic fares, or
exchange rates.
